ABOUT WHEELER JEWELRY

Wheeler Jewelry began business in 1908 and continues it's western pioneering spirit into the 21st century. The unique showcases traveled on a steamboat from Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Fort Benton, Montana. From there the extremely ornate and heavy cases came over the mountain pass to their final destination in Kalispell, Montana. This was quite a journey for early 20th century transportation methods. Wheeler's currently occupies the first brick building built in the town in 1891, originally the First National Bank of Kalispell. The bank relocated around 1914, and the cases moved for their last time into the space to become Wheeler Jewelry.

Today we pride ourselves in our melding together of old western hospitality with modern designs and craftsmanship. Our goldsmiths combine gems from around the world with their impeccable skills. We also represent the finest artists from Europe, across America, and from right here at home.

Our special Montana made jewelry includes Yogo sapphires. These beautiful blue stones are some of the rarest in the world. Only one mine in the world in Montana is currently producing these exquisite gems. These stones, discovered during the gold rush days, are different from other stones because they are gem quality when mined. Other sapphires need to be heated to produce the quality needed for precious gems. Yogos were heated in the earth 100's of years ago. The color, clarity, and brilliance of these gems is unmatched.

Our other distinctive department is our heirloom collection of estate jewelry. The jewelry always changes, so don't forget to check it out often.

We hope you will visit Kalispell soon and stop by to see our historic store. Our customers trust us to provide service, quality, and reliability for their most precious of possessions, their diamonds and jewelry.
